Key Features
The RDL D-TPR2A is an active two-pair RDL FORMAT-A receiver that converts signals carried on twisted-pair cable into two unbalanced -10 dBV RCA phono outputs. Pair B supplies the left channel, while Pair C supplies the right channel. Precision active balanced circuitry, RJ45 signal-and-power pass-through, and flexible local or remote powering make the module a focused interface for bringing FORMAT-A audio to equipment with conventional RCA inputs.
The D-TPR2A is designed for RDL FORMAT-A systems that require a stereo RCA output from two audio pairs. It is suited to installations where left and right signals must be delivered from twisted-pair infrastructure to equipment using unbalanced phono connections. Its pass-through capability also supports systems that need more than one FORMAT-A receiver along the same signal and power path.
This model combines two dedicated RCA outputs with active balanced input circuitry. The outputs are unbalanced, rated at 100 Ω, and presented at a nominal -10 dBV level. The left and right assignments are fixed and clearly defined, reducing ambiguity during system integration. A blue power LED provides visible operating confirmation, while the module can pass both signal and power pairs onward to connected FORMAT-A equipment.
The D-TPR2A is available in white, black, and stainless steel versions. Its compact dimensions are 1.6 inches wide, 4.11 inches high, and 1.89 inches deep.
The D-TPR2A uses an RJ45 connection for its RDL FORMAT-A input and an RJ45 FORMAT-A output for pass-through. This arrangement allows signal and power pairs to continue to additional compatible receivers. The module can be powered remotely through the twisted-pair cable or locally through its detachable terminal-block power connection.
When local power is used, the fused local power feed supplies connected modules through the FORMAT-A path. The stated power requirement is 24 Vdc at 45 mA plus the requirements of connected loads. Recommended power supplies, which are not included, are the PS-24AS for the USA and the PS-24AX for international use. The minimum mounting-box depth specified for D- and DS-series models is 2.4 inches.
The active balanced circuitry provides a frequency response of 10 Hz to 50 kHz within ±0.1 dB. THD+N is specified at less than 0.005%, and noise below +4 dBu is specified at less than -90 dB. Available headroom above +4 dBu exceeds 18 dB.
Common-mode rejection is greater than 80 dB from 50 Hz to 150 Hz. These published figures define the module’s handling of FORMAT-A signals before conversion to its two unbalanced RCA outputs. The specified ambient operating range is 0° C to 55° C.
The D-TPR2A is specifically arranged around two FORMAT-A signal pairs rather than a general-purpose analog input. Pair B is assigned to the left RCA output and Pair C to the right RCA output. This fixed stereo mapping is combined with signal and power pass-through, allowing the receiver to serve as an output point without necessarily ending the FORMAT-A connection path.
Remote powering, a fused local power option, detachable terminal-block power input, and RJ45 pass-through are integrated into the same compact module. The blue LED gives a direct indication that the module is powered.
The RDL D-TPR2A provides a defined way to extract left and right audio from FORMAT-A Pairs B and C and deliver them through two -10 dBV RCA phono outputs. Its active balanced circuitry, wide specified frequency response, local and remote power choices, and RJ45 daisy-chain support make it a purpose-built FORMAT-A receiver for installations requiring conventional unbalanced stereo connections.
