The RDL DS-TPS2AM is an active two-pair sender for RDL TP Format-A systems. It accepts one balanced microphone input plus left and right unbalanced line inputs, placing the microphone on Format-A pair A and the line source on pair B. The line channels enter through a stereo mini-jack and are summed to mono. A female XLR with gold contacts provides the microphone connection and supports IEC 24 Vdc phantom power. The stainless configuration measures 1.6 inches wide by 4.11 inches high by 1.89 inches deep.
This model is suited to installations that need to introduce a microphone feed and playback audio from a stereo mini-jack source into the same RDL TP Format-A path. Its defined pair assignment keeps the microphone on pair A and the summed line signal on pair B. Because the left and right line channels are combined, the DS-TPS2AM is appropriate when mono line transport is the intended result rather than separate stereo transmission. The balanced microphone path supports sources requiring IEC 24 Vdc phantom power.
The DS-TPS2AM provides active gain for both input types. Microphone gain is switch-selectable on the rear panel between 50 dB in NORM mode and 63 dB in HIGH mode, while the line stage provides 12 dB of gain. The microphone input has a 1.2 kΩ balanced impedance and an input range of -45 to -65 dBu. Its maximum input level is -40 dBu in HIGH gain and -28 dBu in NORM gain. The 10 kΩ unbalanced line inputs operate at -10 dBV and accept a maximum level of +8 dBV.
Audio is delivered as RDL TP Format-A through an RJ45 output connection. Power connections include both a detachable terminal block and RJ45, and the operating requirement is 24 Vdc at 65 mA plus connected loads. A Power In indicator provides a visible indication for the incoming power connection. The recommended power supplies are the PS-24AS for the USA and PS-24AX for international use; the power supply is not included. Installation requires a mounting box with a minimum depth of 2.4 inches. The specified ambient operating range is 0° C to 55° C.
The microphone path has a frequency response of 100 Hz to 30 kHz within ±1 dB. An integral low-cut filter is specified at -10 dB at 30 Hz. Microphone THD+N is less than 0.1% from 80 Hz to 20 kHz. Noise below +4 dBu is less than -80 dB in NORM gain and less than -70 dB in HIGH gain. Microphone CMRR is greater than 60 dB in HIGH gain and greater than 65 dB in NORM gain from 50 Hz to 150 Hz.
The line path extends from 20 Hz to 50 kHz within ±0.5 dB, with THD+N below 0.05% across that range. Line noise below +4 dBu is less than -95 dB, and available headroom is greater than 18 dB above +4 dBu. Published crosstalk specifications list line-to-line performance below 90 dB at 1 kHz and below 75 dB from 20 Hz to 20 kHz. Line-to-microphone figures vary by microphone gain setting, with separate HIGH and NORM values provided for 1 kHz and the full 20 Hz to 20 kHz range.
