Key Features
The RDL D-RLC10M combines remote level adjustment, pushbutton muting, and visual level feedback in a wall-mounted control. Its optical rotary encoder can serve a single control location or be used in systems with as many as ten remote control locations. An integral 0 to 10 Vdc ramp generator supports slave-mode input and master-mode output, while two open-collector pulse outputs provide UP and DOWN control. The unit is compatible with all RDL VCA modules and is available in stainless steel, black, and white.
This model is intended for installations that need level control away from the associated RDL VCA module. It fits single-location systems as well as layouts in which level control must be available from multiple positions. Support for up to ten remote control locations accommodates systems requiring operator access at more than one point. The integrated momentary mute pushbutton adds immediate muting at the control surface, with an LED indicator providing visible mute indication.
The D-RLC10M keeps adjustment, muting, and level feedback together in one control. The optical encoder handles level adjustment, and the visual display shows the operating level. During an adjustment, the display becomes bright; after the adjustment, it dims. On power-up, the control can return either to the last level or to a stored preset level. Muting is incorporated through a momentary pushbutton with an LED indicator, eliminating the need for a separate mute control at the same location.
The D-RLC10M mounts in a standard US electrical box or in RDL WB- or SMB-series boxes. A cover plate is available separately and should be included when planning the finished installation. The control requires ground-referenced 24 Vdc at 50 mA. Without the knob, its listed dimensions are 4.11 inches high, 1.31 inches wide, and 0.98 inch deep. Integration can use the 0 to 10 Vdc ramp connection, operating as an input in slave mode or an output in master mode, together with the dedicated UP and DOWN pulse outputs. Stainless steel, black, and white versions are available for different installation finishes.
The two pulse outputs are open-collector outputs rated at 20 mA. Pulse duration ranges from 500 uS minimum to 4 mS maximum, with a minimum 500 uS interval between consecutive pulses. The supplied approximate rotation data lists five rotations from minimum to maximum during slow rotation without acceleration, three during medium rotation with acceleration, and one during fast counterclockwise rotation. The optical rotary encoder provides the physical level-control interface, while the integral ramp generator covers a 0 to 10 Vdc range. The display responds directly to adjustment activity by increasing brightness, then dimming when adjustment is complete.
This model brings several related RDL control functions into a single electrical-box-mounted interface. It supports both single and multiple control locations, scales to as many as ten remote locations, and works with all RDL VCA modules. Its combination of optical rotary control, momentary pushbutton muting, LED mute indication, operating-level display, automatic display dimming, and selectable power-up behavior distinguishes it from a basic passive level control. Master and slave ramp operation further broadens its available integration approach.
For an RDL VCA-based installation requiring physical remote control, the D-RLC10M provides rotary level adjustment, visible operating-level feedback, pushbutton muting, multi-location support, and master or slave ramp operation in one model. It is directly suited to systems requiring one through ten control positions and standard electrical-box mounting. Selection should also account for the desired stainless steel, black, or white finish and the separately available cover plate where needed.
