Key Features
The Williams AV PPA R37-00 is the R37 wideband FM receiver package that includes two AA batteries and the CLP 023 belt clip. It provides seek-button access to 17 preset frequencies reserved for hearing assistance by the ADA. The black receiver measures 4.1″ × 2.85″ × 1.38″ (104 × 72 × 35 mm) and weighs 4.6 oz (130 g) with batteries or 2.6 oz (73 g) without batteries. Earphones are not included with this package.
The receiver is intended for hearing-assistance applications operating on one of its supported wideband FM frequencies. Its compact dimensions, battery operation, and included belt clip suit situations in which a listener needs to carry or wear an individual receiver. The 3.5 mm stereo/mono phone jack accommodates an earphone or headphone cord, which also serves as the integral receive antenna. Approximately 50 hours of operation from two non-rechargeable AA alkaline batteries supports extended listening periods without frequent battery replacement.
The R37 keeps channel selection accessible through a seek button located inside the battery compartment. A green LED indicates power and flashes green when the batteries are low. The receiver accepts either two AA alkaline batteries or two AA NiMH batteries, while this PPA R37-00 package supplies the BAT 001-2 battery set. An automatic shut-off function places the receiver in sleep mode after approximately six minutes without an RF signal.
Setup centers on installing the two AA batteries, connecting a listening accessory to the 3.5 mm stereo/mono phone jack, and selecting a channel with the seek button in the battery compartment. Because the receive antenna is integral with the earphone or headphone cord, that cord is part of the receiver’s reception path. The 17 operating frequencies are 72.1, 72.2, 72.3, 72.4, 72.5, 72.6, 72.7, 72.8, 72.9, 74.7, 75.3, 75.4, 75.5, 75.6, 75.7, 75.8, and 75.9 MHz. The specified operating temperature range is 0 to 50°C. The supplied CLP 023 belt clip provides the carrying configuration included with this model.
The receiver has a frequency response of 200 Hz to 15 kHz and a minimum signal-to-noise ratio of 65 dB at 100 µV. Sensitivity is specified at 2 µV at 12 dB SINAD with squelch defeated, while input overload is rated at 100 mV. FM modulation uses ±75 kHz peak deviation, supported by a 75 kHz intermediate frequency, 75 µS de-emphasis, and an AFC range of ±120 kHz.
Audio output is rated at 35 mW maximum peak into 16 ohms. The listed earbud specification is a foam-cushion earbud with a 3.5 mm plug and 32-ohm impedance, although an earbud is not supplied in the PPA R37-00 package. Nominal current consumption is 52 mA. These specifications provide concrete reference points for frequency compatibility, listening-accessory selection, operating range, and battery planning.
The PPA R37-00 is distinguished by its specific accessory bundle. The PPA R37N includes the receiver and CLP 023 belt clip but does not include batteries or earphones. The PPA R37-00 adds the BAT 001-2 batteries while retaining the belt clip and excluding earphones. The PPA R37 HD includes the receiver, batteries, belt clip, and HED 021 headphones. This version therefore fits buyers who need the receiver, batteries, and belt clip but do not require bundled headphones.
The PPA R37-00 combines 17-channel seek tuning, AA battery flexibility, a 3.5 mm stereo/mono output, and a defined 72.1 to 75.9 MHz frequency selection in a compact black receiver. Its approximately 50-hour alkaline battery life, low-battery indication, and automatic sleep mode address routine operating needs. The receiver carries FCC, Industry Canada, RoHS, and WEEE approvals. It is listed with a Lifetime PLUS Limited Warranty, with 90 days on most accessories. For purchasing accuracy, the package includes the receiver, BAT 001-2 batteries, and CLP 023 belt clip; earphones are not included.
