Key Features
The RDL AMS-TS1 is a bicolor illuminated capacitive touch switch built around a finger-contact interface, an integral controller, and open-collector control outputs. Its front-panel indicator can display output state through red and green illumination, while switch-selectable operating and illumination-control modes allow the device to support several control behaviors. Because the controller is integral, the switch can function without an external controller.
This model fits control points where touch activation and immediate visual state indication are both required. Toggle mode supports an output that remains active until the next touch. Momentary mode keeps the output active only while the button is continuously touched. Pulse mode provides a defined, brief activation. Its mounting compatibility makes it suitable for standard D-style cutouts, all RDL AMS mounting frames, and RDL Decora-style wall plates. The surrounding bezel gives the installed switch a professional finished appearance.
The AMS-TS1 combines its capacitive touch surface, operating logic, illumination control, and outputs in one device. Front-panel operation is switch-selectable between toggle, momentary, and pulse modes, allowing installers to configure behavior for the required control sequence. The SLAVE terminal supplies two open-collector outputs rated at 25 mA, with normal and inverted outputs available. This integral control arrangement allows the switch to operate independently while still providing outputs for connected equipment.
Internal illumination control creates a direct relationship between the indicator and output state: red indicates that the output is inactive, while green indicates that it is active. Illumination can also be switched to external control when remote equipment needs to determine the displayed color. External control provides white when no color is selected, as well as red or green selection.
The AMS-TS1 measures 1.23 inches high by 1.24 inches wide by 2.3 inches deep, equivalent to 3.12 by 3.14 by 5.84 centimeters. It installs in AMS mounts or D-style cutouts and is compatible with RDL AMS mounting frames and RDL Decora-style wall plates. Its power requirement is ground-referenced 24 Vdc at 30 mA.
For external illumination control, the specified interface uses a 1 mA pull to ground with a 2.5 VDC threshold. Installers can select internal or external illumination control using the switch-selectable setting. The two normal and inverted open-collector outputs provide corresponding output options for integration. The specified ambient operating environment ranges from 0 degrees C to 50 degrees C.
Each operating mode follows a clearly defined timing sequence. In toggle mode, touching the button latches the output active; the next touch latches it inactive. In momentary mode, the output remains active for as long as the button is continuously touched and returns to inactive when contact is released. In pulse mode, a button touch activates the output for 125 mS nominal before it automatically returns to the inactive state.
The internal indicator logic makes active and inactive status visible directly at the touch point, using green for an active output and red for an inactive output. Where indicator state must be managed by remote equipment, external control expands the available indication to white with no selection, red, or green. These choices let the installer align both button behavior and visual feedback with the connected control arrangement.
The distinguishing feature of the AMS-TS1 is the combination of capacitive finger activation, bicolor illumination, three selectable operating modes, and an integral controller. It does not require an external controller to perform its core switching functions, yet it supports remote illumination control when needed. Normal and inverted 25 mA open-collector outputs add another integration option, while compatibility with multiple RDL and D-style mounting formats provides flexibility at the installation point.
The RDL AMS-TS1 provides a defined touch-control interface with configurable toggle, momentary, or nominal 125 mS pulse operation. Its integral controller, dual normal and inverted open-collector outputs, and selectable internal or external indicator control place switching and status feedback in one assembly. For installations using AMS mounts, standard D-style cutouts, or RDL Decora-style wall plates, it offers a compact set of documented control and indication functions with a professional bezel finish.
