The RDL TX-TPS3A is an active sender for systems that need to place three audio inputs onto RDL TP Format-A signal pairs A, B and C. It accommodates +4 dBu balanced sources through detachable terminal blocks and -10 dBV unbalanced sources through phono jacks. This combination makes the module appropriate when professional balanced equipment, consumer-level unbalanced equipment, or a mixture of the two must connect to a Format-A installation. All three Format-A pairs are used, providing a defined path for three input channels through the RJ45 output.
The TX-TPS3A combines flexible input connectivity with precision active balanced circuitry. Its six input connections comprise three 20 kΩ balanced inputs and three 10 kΩ unbalanced inputs. Nominal input levels are +4 dBu balanced and -10 dBV unbalanced, with a specified maximum input level of +22 dBu. The module can receive power locally or remotely through its RJ45 connection. When locally powered, it also supplies power to all modules connected to the OUTPUT, reducing the need for separate power connections at every connected module.
A blue LED provides visible confirmation that the module is powered. Wiring-fault protection is handled by an automatically resetting fuse, allowing the power circuit to recover after the fault condition is corrected.
Balanced inputs connect through the detachable terminal block, while unbalanced inputs use phono jacks. The three audio channels feed Format-A pairs A, B and C, and the RDL TP Format-A output is presented on an RJ45 connector. Power can enter through any of three connections: the dc power jack, the detachable terminal block, or the RJ45 connector.
