Key Features
The white RDL D-RN2ML is a wall-mounted, bi-directional 2 x 2 audio network interface for Dante or AES67 systems. It combines a front-panel female XLR mic or line input with a front-panel stereo mini-jack line-level input, while two balanced line outputs are provided on the rear panel. The interface supports 24-bit audio, multiple sample rates, software-selectable input settings, and IEEE 802.3af Power over Ethernet.
The D-RN2ML is designed for fixed installations that need a convenient wall-mounted connection point between analog audio equipment and a Dante or AES67 network. Its XLR input accommodates microphone-level and line-level sources, while the stereo mini-jack provides a separate connection for line-level equipment. Two balanced rear-panel outputs handle analog audio received from the network.
Software-selectable gain and phantom power make the XLR input adaptable to different source requirements. The mini-jack input also offers selectable unity, +5 dB, or -5 dB gain. This combination is useful when an installation requires both professional XLR connectivity and a front-accessible stereo mini-jack connection in the same compact interface.
The interface supports both Dante and AES67 digital audio Ethernet protocols at a 100 Mbps transmission rate. Supported sample rates include 44.1, 48, 88.2, and 96 kHz, with 48 kHz used as the default. Audio is carried at a 24-bit depth.
The XLR input provides three microphone gain settings of 35, 42, or 59 dB. For line-level operation, it offers unity or 12 dB gain. P48 phantom power is software-selectable and follows IEC 61938: 2013. These settings allow the input stage to be configured for the connected microphone or line source without relying on fixed gain values.
The D-RN2ML measures 1.80 inches wide, 4.11 inches high, and 2.09 inches deep. Its network connection is an RJ45 port with Link and Speed indicators. Power is supplied through PoE Class 0 in accordance with IEEE 802.3af, combining network connectivity and power delivery through the Ethernet connection.
The two balanced line outputs use a detachable wiring block on the rear panel. Ethernet Link and Speed indicators are also located at the rear, while Sync and Power indicators are positioned on the front panel for visible operating-status confirmation. The specified ambient operating range is 0 degrees C to 50 degrees C.
The interface has a specified frequency response of 20 Hz to 20 kHz within ±0.5 dB. Its audio operating level is defined as -18 dBFS equaling +4 dBu, while the reference level is 0 dBFS equaling +22 dBu. XLR input impedance is greater than 1.2 kilohms.
Equivalent input noise is below -128 dBu at 59 dB gain and below -130 dBu when A-weighted. THD+N is below 0.1 percent from 20 Hz to 20 kHz at +4 dBu/-18 dBFS, and common-mode rejection is greater than 65 dB from 50 to 120 Hz. Input-to-input crosstalk is specified as below the noise floor from 20 Hz to 20 kHz at operating level and maximum gain.
Each balanced output operates at a nominal +4 dBu and supports a maximum level of +22 dBu. Output impedance is 150 ohms balanced, with THD below 0.01 percent at 1 kHz. Output noise is below -80 dB relative to +4 dBu and below -100 dB relative to +22 dBu. Headroom above -10 dBV is greater than 18 dB.
The D-RN2ML combines two front-panel analog input formats with two rear-panel balanced outputs and bi-directional network audio operation. Beyond its selectable XLR and mini-jack gain options, each received network channel has a software-controlled analog output attenuator adjustable from 0 to -63 dB, plus an OFF setting.
Its combination of Dante or AES67 operation, 24-bit conversion, sample rates through 96 kHz, P48 phantom power, and PoE places the essential input, output, configuration, network, and power functions in one wall-mounted unit.
The RDL D-RN2ML is a focused choice for installations requiring a white, wall-mounted 2 x 2 Dante or AES67 interface with XLR mic or line input, stereo mini-jack input, and balanced analog outputs. Its selectable gain, phantom power, output attenuation, 24-bit audio support, and PoE operation provide clearly defined capabilities for integrating analog sources and destinations with a networked audio system.
