Key Features
The AVer MD120UI is a medical PTZ camera developed specifically for patient monitoring. Its 1/2.8-inch Exmor CMOS sensor provides 8-megapixel imaging with 4K, 1080p, and 720p output options, while available frame rates extend to 60fps. A 20X optical zoom, broad pan-and-tilt movement, and IR night vision give operators flexible ways to view an indoor monitoring area. HDMI, IP, and USB video outputs support several integration paths.
Designed for indoor application, the MD120UI suits patient-monitoring configurations that require detailed live video, remote reframing, and multiple connection choices. Its 0.5-lux minimum illumination rating and IR night vision address environments with limited available light. The lens covers a 69.2° to 4.1° diagonal field of view and a 62.3° to 3.6° horizontal range, allowing a transition from a wider room perspective to a tighter telephoto view. Live video preview is supported, while the built-in omnidirectional microphone provides two-channel stereo audio using the AAC-LC 48K codec.
The MD120UI combines 4K video at up to 60fps with a 20X optical zoom and precise PTZ positioning. Pan movement extends ±170°, while tilt travels from +90° to -30°. Manual pan and tilt speeds range from 0.1° to 100° per second, and preset movement reaches 200° per second. Operators can store 10 preset positions through IR control or as many as 256 through RS-232, RS-422, or IP control. Image-processing functions include mirror, flip, freeze, wide dynamic range, and backlight compensation.
The 4.5 mm to 90 mm focal range is paired with an F1.8 aperture at wide angle and F4.7 at telephoto. Minimum working distance is 0.1 meter at wide angle and 1.2 meters at telephoto. Exposure can be controlled automatically or manually, with shutter-priority and iris-priority AE options. Auto and manual white balance are also available.
Video can be delivered through HDMI, IP, or USB. The USB connection uses a USB 3.0 Type-B connector and supports UVC 1.1, UAC 1.0, and MJPEG video up to 2160p. Network integration includes a 10/100/1000 Base-T interface, variable or constant bit-rate control from 512Kbps to 64Mbps, and H.264, H.265, and MJPEG compression. Two simultaneous streams are supported through RTSP or a web page, with a maximum specification of 4K at 60fps.
Camera control is available through RS-232, RS-422, and Ethernet. Supported control methods include VISCA over RS-232, RS-422, or IP, plus CGI over IP. Listed network protocols include IPv6, IPv4, TCP, UDP, ARP, IMCP, IGMP, HTTP, DHCP, RTP/RTCP, RTSP, RTMP, and VISCA over IP. Power can be supplied at 12V, with PoE+ support under IEEE 802.3at. Maximum listed power consumption is 24W.
The camera measures 180 x 145 x 183.5 mm and weighs 1.7 ± 0.1 kg. It features an anti-UV housing and a Kensington security slot. Listed configuration and PTZ-management support covers Windows 7 or later and iOS or iPadOS 11 or later.
The sensor supports frame rates of 60, 59.94, 50, 30, 29.97, and 25 across the listed output options. Shutter speed spans 1/1 to 1/10,000 second, while the signal-to-noise ratio is rated at 50 dB or greater. Gain can be adjusted automatically or manually. The camera also supports 50 Hz and 60 Hz power frequencies.
At its widest setting, the MD120UI provides a 37.7° vertical field of view; at telephoto, that narrows to 2.1°. This optical range works with the PTZ system and stored presets to support repeatable transitions between established viewing positions.
The supplied specifications bring together medical patient-monitoring design, 4K 60fps capture, 20X optical reach, IR night vision, integrated audio, and extensive serial, network, and USB connectivity. Up to 256 network or serial presets provide repeatable positioning, while WDR, BLC, exposure controls, and white-balance controls give operators multiple ways to manage the image. The choice of 12V or PoE+ power further broadens system-integration options.
The AVer MD120UI is a focused indoor patient-monitoring camera for installations requiring detailed 4K imaging, long optical reach, controllable PTZ movement, and flexible output formats. Its combination of HDMI, IP, USB, serial control, network streaming, built-in audio, and IR night vision provides a clearly defined feature set for medical monitoring workflows. The camera carries a three-year warranty, with accessories covered for one year.
