Key Features
The Digi-Wave ACM 6 User Production Intercom System is designed for six-person production and event teams that need portable, two-way communication without a base station. Its simultaneous full-duplex operation allows users to transmit and receive audio at the same time, supporting active coordination while team members move throughout a production area.
It fits stage management, broadcast direction, camera, audio and event coordination workflows. Subgroup tools are useful when several disciplines need separate conversations but leaders still require a direct way to reach everyone. The system is also positioned for small and mid-sized organizations seeking the core functions of a professional production intercom at an accessible price.
Digi-Wave ACM is fully mobile and does not depend on a dedicated base station. Its Main Sync feature lets users select any device in the system to serve as the digital access point. This flexibility helps maximize the connected system’s overall range and allows the access point to move with the team. A unit can also be mounted in a fixed location when that arrangement provides better production-area coverage.
The system combines full-duplex communication with All Call, private-line functionality and configurable subgroups. One or several leaders can move quickly between subgroups, while designated units can initiate private communication with the lead unit. These capabilities provide several ways to organize communication without requiring every conversation to be shared with the entire team.
Each transceiver uses a built-in 1800 mAh lithium-polymer battery with smart charging. Approximate charging time is five hours, and charging connections include USB-C plus two contacts for use with the CHG 412. USB-C also supports adjustable line-level input and output. The device provides a 3.5 mm TRRS headphone output and a 3.5 mm microphone connection with electret microphone bias and adjustable gain. The internal microphone is disabled when the microphone jack is engaged.
Administrators can configure system settings offline using a Digi-Wave ACM transmitter and then manage system updates. The compatible receiver is the DLR 400 RCH with firmware version 1.3.0 or later. Existing Digi-Wave 400 DLT units running firmware from January 2021 or later can be updated with Advanced Comms Module firmware. System planning should account for local environmental conditions because the specified wireless range is stated as up to 900 feet.
The intercom operates in the 2.4 GHz ISM band from 2402 to 2476 MHz using frequency-hopping spread spectrum and FSK modulation. Typical RF output is 19 dBm, with a stated range of up to 900 feet or 274 meters depending on environmental conditions. Security provisions include 87-bit encryption compatible with the 300 Series, 87+128-bit encryption, an encryption PIN and a settings lock.
Advanced Comms and Intercom modes provide an audio frequency response of 100 to 7,200 Hz. The specified signal-to-noise ratio is 73 dB A-weighted at the default receiver volume with microphone input, while total harmonic distortion is 0.1 percent at the default volume and 1 kHz. Battery performance reaches up to 16 hours of talk time per charge with one transmit and one receive channel. Auto Sleep Mode activates after five minutes without an RF signal from compatible devices.
The system can be organized into two to four subgroups, allowing production departments to maintain focused conversations. Administrators can assign custom subgroup names containing up to six characters or use familiar identifiers such as camera, audio and stage. One or several leaders can switch between these groups to coordinate different parts of a production as requirements change.
All Call gives designated devices a button-operated way to communicate with every subgroup. When activated, it mutes the other devices so a stage manager, broadcast director or event coordinator can announce cues, commercial-break endings or emergencies to the complete team. Private Line provides a separate path for designated units to communicate directly with the lead unit. Together, these functions balance team-wide announcements, departmental organization and direct communication.
The Digi-Wave ACM 6 User Production Intercom System brings portable, full-duplex coordination to productions and events without requiring a fixed base station. Its combination of an assignable Main Sync device, up to four named subgroups, All Call, private lines, up to 900-foot range and up to 16-hour talk time addresses the practical communication needs of mobile teams. The product carries a two-year warranty against component failure and manufacturing defects, with one-year coverage for the internal battery, and lists FCC, Industry Canada, CE, RoHS 3, WEEE, RCM, ANATEL, KC and Giteki approvals.
