Product Overview
The RDL D-BZR Piezo Alert Module provides an audible alert for a remote condition, with an LED alarm indicator, front-panel and remote reset, and selectable momentary or latching operation. It accepts ground-activated TRIP and RESET inputs, operates from 24 Vdc or ac at 10 mA, and offers approximately 4 kHz output at 85 or 75 dB SPL at 10 cm.

Key Features
The RDL D-BZR Piezo Alert Module provides an audible alert when a remote condition activates its TRIP input. It combines an approximately 4 kHz alert tone with an LED alarm indicator, giving the operator both audible and visual notification. Selectable audio output, reset controls, and a choice of momentary or latching operation allow the module to be configured around the required alert behavior.
The D-BZR is suited to systems that need to announce a remote condition at an operator position. Its ground-activated TRIP input initiates the alert, while the LED alarm indicator identifies that an alarm condition has occurred. The module can operate momentarily when an alert is needed only during activation, or it can latch the indication until it is reset. This makes it useful when an event must remain noticeable after the original trigger is no longer active.
A selectable sound level also helps accommodate different operating environments. The loud setting produces approximately 85 dB SPL at 10 cm, while the soft setting produces approximately 75 dB SPL at 10 cm. Both settings use an approximate alert frequency of 4 kHz.
The D-BZR places its essential alarm functions in one module. An operator can acknowledge a latched condition with the front-panel reset button, while the remote reset provision allows the same function to be activated elsewhere in the system. Both TRIP and RESET control inputs activate when grounded.
Its configurable operation is a practical advantage when alert requirements vary. Momentary mode follows the applicable trigger behavior, while latching operation retains the alarm state for deliberate acknowledgement. The selectable audio level provides another defined choice without changing the module: approximately 85 dB SPL for the loud setting or 75 dB SPL for the soft setting, each measured at 10 cm.
The module requires 24 Vdc or ac at 10 mA. The recommended power supplies listed for it are the PS-24AS for the USA and the PS-24AX for international use. System control wiring connects to the ground-activated TRIP and RESET inputs. The front-panel button provides local reset access, and the separate reset input supports remote control.
The D-BZR measures 4.1 inches high by 1.6 inches deep by 1.3 inches wide, equivalent to 10.4 by 4.1 by 3.3 cm. Its specified ambient operating range is 0° C to 55° C. Front and rear panel diagrams and an engineering functional block CAD file are identified as available in American DXF format. A PDF specification sheet is also provided in the source documentation.
The D-BZR does more than generate a fixed sound. It combines two selectable audio levels with an LED indicator and two operating behaviors. The latching option can preserve the alarm indication for acknowledgement, while momentary operation supports conditions that do not need to remain latched. Local and remote reset capabilities give the system designer two documented ways to clear the alert.
The compact physical dimensions support integration where panel space must be considered, while the 10 mA power requirement defines the module’s electrical demand. Its ability to accept either 24 Vdc or 24 Vac provides two documented power options.
The RDL D-BZR is a focused alert module for signaling a remotely triggered condition. Its approximately 4 kHz tone, selectable 85 or 75 dB SPL output, LED alarm indicator, ground-activated controls, and momentary or latching modes provide clearly defined choices for alarm behavior. Front-panel and remote reset functions complete a compact module designed around audible notification, visible indication, and controlled acknowledgement.
