Key Features
The RDL D-TPSL1A is an active single-pair twisted-pair sender that combines left and right stereo audio into a mono output for RDL TP Format-A systems. It accepts unbalanced audio through either a mini-jack or dual RCA phono jacks, then routes the signal to switch-selectable pair A, B, or C through RJ45 connections. Precision active balanced circuitry, power pass-through, and flexible local or remote powering support streamlined integration with connected Format-A modules.
The D-TPSL1A is suited to installations that need to feed a stereo source into a mono RDL TP Format-A signal path. Its choice of mini-jack and dual RCA inputs accommodates two common unbalanced stereo connection formats without requiring separate input models. Pair selection makes it useful when the intended signal must occupy a specific A, B, or C pair within the Format-A connection.
It can also be daisy-chained with single-pair or two-pair Format-A senders. Signal and power pair pass-through between the two TP CABLE RJ45 jacks allows the module to become part of a connected twisted-pair system while preserving the required pass-through paths.
This model brings input conversion, pair assignment, and power distribution into one compact active module. Left and right inputs are combined to mono, while a switch determines which RJ45 signal pair is fed. The active balanced output circuitry is designed for studio-quality performance and delivers an RDL TP Format-A output through RJ45.
The D-TPSL1A provides an RJ45 Format-A input and an RJ45 output connection. Audio is connected through the mini-jack or dual RCA phono inputs, and the desired Format-A signal pair is selected on the module. The input impedance is 10 kΩ unbalanced for both left and right channels, with a specified input level of 10 dBV.
Power may be supplied remotely through the twisted-pair cable or locally through the detachable terminal block. The fused local power input can feed all connected modules, while the module itself requires 24 Vdc at 25 mA plus the requirements of connected loads. Recommended power supplies, not included, are the PS-24AS for the USA and PS-24AX for international use. The blue LED indicates that the module is powered.
The enclosure measures 1.6 inches wide, 4.11 inches high, and 1.89 inches deep. Installation requires a mounting box with a minimum depth of 2.4 inches.
The active balanced circuitry delivers a frequency response of 20 Hz to 20 kHz within ±0.25 dB. Headroom is specified at greater than 18 dB, noise at less than -90 dB, and THD+N at less than 0.05% across the 20 Hz to 20 kHz range. These published measurements define the module’s audio performance from input conversion through its RDL TP Format-A output.
The supported ambient operating range is 0°C to 55°C. This specification, together with the detachable local power connection and RJ45 remote-power capability, provides clear parameters for planning installation and connected power loads.
The defining feature of the D-TPSL1A is its combination of stereo-to-mono conversion and selectable single-pair Format-A transmission. Rather than assigning the output to a fixed pair, it lets the installer choose pair A, B, or C. Its two TP CABLE RJ45 connections pass signal and power pairs through the module, supporting daisy-chained layouts with other compatible single-pair or two-pair senders.
The fused local power arrangement adds another integration option: one local 24 Vdc connection can power the D-TPSL1A and feed connected modules, subject to the combined load requirement. Remote powering through the twisted-pair cable remains available when that better matches the system design.
The RDL D-TPSL1A provides a focused solution for converting unbalanced stereo audio from a mini-jack or dual RCA inputs into a mono RDL TP Format-A signal. Selectable pair routing, RJ45 signal and power pass-through, local or remote powering, and documented 20 Hz to 20 kHz performance make it a capable building block for compatible twisted-pair audio systems. Its compact dimensions and clear power indication further simplify system planning and installation.
