The ZeeVee HDB2620 is a professional-grade HD video encoder and QAM modulator designed for broadcast and AV distribution systems where multiple displays need to receive live or recorded video channels over coaxial cable. It’s part of ZeeVee’s HDbridge 2000 Series, which focuses on efficient channel density and flexible deployment in commercial environments such as hotels, stadiums, corporate campuses, medical facilities, and multi-unit buildings.
This device accepts two independent video sources via full-size DIN connectors (which can convert to component or VGA with included breakout cables) and encodes them into MPEG-2 digital video with audio combined into AC-3 format. Once encoded, the unit modulates the video into RF/QAM channels that can be inserted anywhere on a coax network, allowing a virtually unlimited number of tuner-equipped TVs or displays to receive the channels simultaneously without the need for separate set-top boxes.
The HDB2620 is built in a 1-rack-unit metal chassis with integrated rack ears for standard rack mounting. A front-panel LCD gives quick status and configuration info, while Ethernet connectivity enables remote setup and management through network tools. It supports a broad range of resolutions up to 1080p and includes closed-caption support, making it suitable for both professional broadcast environments and advanced digital signage systems. Compared to relying on IP alone, this RF modulation approach takes advantage of existing coax infrastructure — useful in retrofit projects or where multicast bandwidth is limited.
