The white SONY VPL-FHZ55 Projector 3LCD WUXGA uses a laser light source and 3LCD optical system to produce bright images with vivid colors. Its laser light has an approximate 20,000 hour life span in auto mode. This projector features a native WUXGA 1920 x 1200 resolution and has a notable 8000:1 contrast ratio, showcasing its ability to handle light and dark on-screen content. The VPL-FHZ55 also features a 1.6x and a 1.39 to 2.23:1 throw ratio. Furthermore, this projector can project up to a 600" image, providing an immersive viewing experience.

With HDMI, VGA, 5-BNC, composite video, and s-video inputs, the Sony VPL-FHZ55 is well equipped for external video sources such as Blu-ray players and PCs. Ethernet and RS-232C connections are onboard for optional control systems. This projector also supports optional external lenses and a ceiling mount. For viewing flexibility, the VPL-FHZ55 supports 360° tilt installation. It also incorporates a Auto Dimming mode, which is designed to balance light output and power consumption.

Laser Light Source and 3LCD Optical System
Combining a laser light source with a 3LCD optical system, the VPL-FHZ55 projector generates a powerful 4000 lumens of color light output at WUXGA resolution. The projector's light engine uses blue laser as its light source, which excites a phosphorous material that in turn creates white light. The white light is delivered to the 3LCD optical system, which generates constant, vibrant RGB color through a color splitting process. The resulting 4000 lumen output produces brightness sufficient for a broad range of commercial applications.
High-resolution WUXGA Image
The VPL-FHZ55 delivers a resolution of WUXGA (1920 x 1200), which exceeds Full-HD resolution (1920 x 1080). The VPL-FHZ55 allows projection in a wider display range. More information can be displayed on the screen, so the user can see the whole page without scrolling.
Lens Shift Function
The VPL-FHZ55 has a Lens Shift function. Using this function, the position of the projected image can be moved vertically by up to 60% and horizontally from -32% through to +32%. Images can be easily adjusted to the desired settings during installation.
Tilt Angle Free
Position the projector freely at any angle, on its side, or even upside down.
Vertical/Horizontal Keystone Distortion
With these projectors, keystone distortion of vertically up to +/- 30 degrees and horizontally up to +/- 30 degrees can be digitally corrected via the on-screen operation menu and/or the remote control. This enables detailed images to be projected with their correct geometry, even when installation space is limited.
Edge Blending for Seamless Wide Projection
The built-in features enable the installation of multiple projectors to create one large seamless and uniform image.
Advanced Geometric Correction
Each corner and side can be grabbed and fit squarely to the desired position. This feature is useful when an offset
Projection is necessary.
20,000 Hours of Maintenance-free Operation
Thanks to its laser light source with control technology, long-life LCD panel, and advanced filter system, the VPL-FHZ55 offers up to 20,000 hours of life in auto mode.
Blank (Picture Muting)
The VPL-FHZ55 can temporarily disable video signal output. This function can be easily operated with just the touch of a button on the supplied remote control. In addition, this function allows blank image projection with low power consumption using light source control technology.
Auto Dimming Mode
The VPL-FHZ55 is equipped with a light source dimming function. After 10 seconds of a static signal feed, the light source dims by approximately 15%. If the VPL-FHZ55 is left powered on while not in use, after a set period of time it will automatically detect no change of signal input and will dim the light source to as low as approximately 5% of original brightness to significantly reduce energy consumption.
Low Power Consumption with No Input
The VPL-FHZ55 automatically detects no signal input and dims the light source to as low as approximately 0% of original brightness to significantly reduce energy consumption.
Auto Light Source Control for Energy Saving
The brightness of the light source's output is automatically adjusted depending on the brightness of the projected image, to avoid unnecessary power consumption. When showing darker images that don't require high brightness, the light source output decreases.
Hg (Mercury) Free
The VPL-FHZ55 laser light source projector is mercury free to provide a more environmentally friendly solution.
Instant On/Off for Smooth Presentation
The VPL-FHZ55 delivers instant on/off. Turn it on and you have immediate full brightness. Turn it off and you're done. Furthermore, you're not limited in the number or duration of on/off cycles.
Constant Brightness Mode for Stable Projection
Constant brightness mode allows users to maintain brightness throughout the expected 20,000 hour life by driving the projector at reduced light output. This is useful for applications including digital signage, museums, or even classrooms where you want to maintain a consistent visual experience for the audience.
With this feature, users can project two different images at the same time, expanding creative possibilities and enabling new applications.
