Description

BenQ HT5550 Overview

Enjoy your video games and multimedia content on a big screen with the BenQ HT5550 HDR 4K UHD Home Theater Projector. It projects UHD 4K resolution onto the screen with compatible content and features HDR10 and HLG compatibility to produce a wide color gamut. It outputs up to 1800 ANSI lumens of brightness and has a 100,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio to help produce details even in dark areas of the image. The projector has two HDMI inputs for connecting your digital HD devices such as a gaming console, Blu-ray player, or cable/satellite box. The HT5550 includes an IR remote control for additional convenience.

CinematicColor Technology

CinematicColor technology uses 100% of the DCI-P3 color space to produce film-like texture and display your movies as the directors originally envisioned.

Enhanced Color Mapping for Natural Hues

This technology is designed to perform precision color rendition to produce lifelike colors automatically tuned to reflect nature when viewing DCI-P3 4K Blu-ray movies.

Factory Calibrated Color Accuracy

The HT5550 is tested and adjusted for D65 color temperature, gamma, black level, white level, neutral gray, RGBCMY color tracking, hue, saturation, brightness, and output based on DCI-P3 and Rec.709. The data from multiple interfaces is compiled for individual factory calibration reports to meet Rec.709 and Delta E<3 performance.

ISFccc Certified Visual Calibration

By incorporating the Imaging Science Foundation's ISFccc Certified Visual Calibration, the image and color performance can be customized for nearly any space, along with pre-set light balance modes for day and night.

Realistic Video Quality with HDR-PRO

Optimized for projection, HDR-PRO technology is engineered to enhance the 4K HDR viewing experience. Using enhanced tone mapping, HDR-PRO provides a broad contrast range to bring out more detail from 4K Blu-rays and streaming content.

Enhanced Tone Mapping Helps Preserve Dark Details

BenQ Enhanced Tone-Mapping uses Active Iris and Dynamic Black technology to help increase the perceived contrast ratio so you can see dark details more clearly. Dynamic Black analyzes a scene's brightness levels to help optimize the light output and contrast, bringing out details in shadows and preventing bright scenes from washout.

Great picture quality, wish the blacks were darker

Headline pretty much sums it up, the projector has an excellent picture. In a light controlled room, the projector excels, though the dynamic iris is fairly noisy. The best feature of the projector is the excellent lens shift.

The centerpiece of my home theater

This is a really great projector if you can control the light in your room. It can work with some lights on but it really shines in a properly darkened room. The picture looks great. I love the built-in sharpening and how good it makes my collection of 1080p blu-ray's look.
